Outstanding Scientist & Director, Institute of Technology Management (ITM)

Shri Shreedhar Katti, Outstanding Scientist has been appointed as Director, Institute of Technology Management (ITM) on 31st December 2021.

Shri SA Katti, a post graduate from IIT Madras, took over as Director, ITM on 31 Dec 2021 A/N. In his career of more than 34 years with DRDO, Shri Katti has served in various capacities as team member/ deputy lead/ main lead etc., contributing towards different programmes/ projects of the organisation. Salient among them are,

  • Assistant Project Manager - Setting up of infrastructure for IGMDP facilities at Hyderabad

  • Deputy Project Manager - Setting up of production facilities for IGMDP at Kirkee

  • Officer-in-Charge - DRDO Pilot projects at Nashik

  • Deputy Project Director - Design, Development and trials of Launch Systems for BrahMos missile on Mobile platform and Warships. Several advanced technologies and processes were used by the team during the development of products

  • Scientist-in-Charge - Setting up of Shore Based Test Facility for LCA (Navy) at Goa

  • Project Director, PJ-10 (Platform Systems) - Design, Development and trial of underwater launch of BrahMos missile; Induction of developed systems in Army and Navy and user training

  • Group Director - Head of System Engineering Group and Special Projects Group at R&DE(E) Pune assigned with system design tasks and development of launcher systems for Aerospace application, development of technologies for Weapon Bay application etc.,

Shri Katti has co-authored more than 20 technical papers. He is one of the inventors in more than 25 granted Patents including patents granted in Singapore, South Africa, Europe, UK, Australia, Russia, USA etc.

Shri Katti is a recipient of Laboratory Scientist of the Year Award, Technology Group Award and DRDO Performance Excellence Award.

He has passed the Paarangat Examination of MoHA.

He is a Life Member of various professional societies including Astronautical Society of India, Institute of Smart Structures and Systems, Global Institute of Flexible Systems Management, Society for Aerospace Quality & Reliability.
