Heavy Drop System 16T

Heavy Drop System (HDS-16T) having 16 Ton capacity consists of a platform and a highly advanced system of parachutes (Parachute System is multi stage parachute system comprising of 5 Main canopies, 10 Brake chutes, 2 Auxiliary chutes, 1 Extractor parachute) is used to drop loads consisting of military stores such as vehicles (including BMP class), ammunition supplies from IL-76 aircraft. HDS system has been designed and developed with 100% indigenous resources and has been successfully demonstrated for its paradrop capability in all terrain condition including Ladakh area. HDS-16T is being inducted in the Indian Army.
