Dr Sumit Goswami did his PhD and Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication, a Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science, and a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Computer Science and Engineering. He has been conferred Young Alumni Achiever Award 2020 by his alma mater, IIT Kharagpur. He has contributed in the field of information security, wide area networks, network management, and information extraction. He has introduced next-generation IT enabled products and services for effective project monitoring and project interaction at DRDO. He has contributed in revising the organization's project formulation policies and compiling the Roadmap of DRDO. He held the position of Counsellor (Defence Technology) at Embassy of India, Washington D.C. during the years 2016-2019 where he worked for defence technology cooperation between Government of India and USA. He also held the additional responsibility of Counsellor (Science & Technology) in the Embassy for two years and coordinated India-USA cooperation related to Science & Technology, Earth Sciences, Atomic Energy, Health & Family Welfare, AYUSH, and Higher Education. He has made research contributions in the areas of public key infrastructure, mobile ad hoc & sensor networks, stylometric analysis, and machine learning. He has published 60 papers/chapters in various journals, books, data competitions, conferences and has a patent in the area of wireless sensor network. To promote computer science among the masses, he also writes general computer science articles in magazines. A text-book titled "Network Routing: Fundamentals, Applications and Emerging Technologies" co-authored by him has been published by John Wiley & Sons, U.K.
