Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS)
ATAGS (155mm/52 Caliber) is designed to meet higher range guns using in-service Extended Range Full Bore (ERFB) shell and lower ranges using Bi-Modular Charge System (BMCS) at Zone-7. It is integrated with autofrettaged barrel, double baffle type muzzle brake and hydro-pneumatic type recoil system. It is equipped with all electric drive for gun laying and Ammunition Handling System (AHS) to ensure operation in extreme and harsh climate conditions and is equipped with integrated Fire Control System (FCS) consisting of INS based Automatic Gun Alignment and Positioning System (AGAPS), Muzzle Velocity Radar (MVR) and ballistics computer to carry out online computation for laying. The Gun has successfully cleared all the user trials and AON has been accorded by DAC. Presently work has been progressed for compilation of range tables for ATAGS and integration of ATAGS with Artillery Combat Command Control System (ACCCS).
