Dr Sanjay Kumar Pandey, Scientist ‘F’, took over the charge as Secretary, Aeronautics Research and Development Board, (AR&DB) on 12 February 2024. He has been awarded M.Sc (Physics) from S K University, Dumka, Jharkhand, M.Tech (Energy Studies) and Ph.D from IIT Delhi (Physics Dept.) in the area of piezo ceramic materials in thin films and bulk. He has also got LLM (Intellectual Property Rights) degree from CCS University.
He joined DRDO in Sep 1991 at DRDE, Gwalior. In 1995, he joined Dte. of Standardisation, DHQ and in Dec 1999 he joined Solid State Physics Laboratory, Delhi. Later, he joined Dte of ER&IPR, DRDO HQ, Delhi in March 2016 and AR&DB in Sep 2017. Dr Sanjay Kumar Pandey is life member of Aeronautical Society of India, Semiconductor Society of India, Material Research Society of India and Nano and Molecular Society of India.
His research areas include development/growth of piezo-ceramic materials (PZT), CdTe, CdS, Indium, Cromium, ZnS and YSZ thin films. He has also demonstrated gas sensing using Mn doped ZnO thin films by PLD technique. He has many research papers to his credit, which have been published in esteemed journals like Journal of Applied Physics, Thin Solid Films, J Alloys and Compounds, Physica B etc.
