Road/Railway Line Detection
Road/railway line detection package discriminates roads and railway lines from panchromatic images. The software automatically extracts roads/railway lines from input image and overlays them on the input image interactively with the help of a menu-driven graphical user interface. The package can handle and analyse a generic binary image of size up to 1024 x 1024 pixels. Various modules, such as road seed extraction, thinning, linking of road segments and road overlay provide functionality.
The bridge detection system works on the basis of majority-must-be-granted logic-based multi-seed supervised classification technique. Likewise, a simple split-and-merge technique for river extraction has been introduced. A low-level operator is used for extraction of possible bridge pixels. An edge-based grouping operation for grouping and a minimal spanning tree-based merging operation is used for merging the bridge pixels. A decision logic regarding water density and connectivity confirms the detection of the bridge.
River, Canal & Lake Detection
performs target specific shape analysis and assigns the target labels to the regions
corresponding to the targets. It has target definitions included in the software. It takes
multispectral classified image of size 1024 x 1024 pixels as input. It is assumed that
these targets appear as water class in the input classified image. The class information
is also used as an input in the software.
Breakwater & Jetty Detection
The software takes multispectral classified image of size 512 x 512 pixels as input, performs target specific shape analysis and assigns the target labels to the regions corresponding to the targets. It has target definitions included in the software. It is assumed that these targets appear as submerge class or some specific class corresponding to breakwaters in the input classified image. The class number information is also used as an input in the software. The software works in command line mode.
