Dr Mitrabasu, Sci C, Defence Bio-engineering and Electromedical Laboratory (DEBEL), Bangalore, has been given the Best Paper Award for paper entitled, Absolute Coronary Risk Analyser: A Tool for Managing Coronary Heart Disease Risk by the Association of Physicians of India (API) at the 20th Karnataka State Annual Conference of API (KAPICION-2002), held at Hubli.
Dr Lalit Kumar, Addl Director, Microwave Tube Research and Development Centre (MTRDC), Bangalore, has been awARDEd IETE-IRST (83) Award-200l for his contributions in the field of indigenous development of microwave tubes used in radar and other electronic systems.
Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Award (ICAR) -2002
Dr Sanjai K Dwivedi, Sci C, Field Research Laboratory (FRL) Leh, has been awARDEd the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Award-2002 by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research for his contributions in the field of horticulture in tribal areas of Ladakh (J&K) during the last five years. The award consists of a Gold Medal, a Certificate, a Citation and a cash prize of Rs 50,000 which was given by Shri Ajeet Singh, Minister of Agriculture on 16 July 2002 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Shri KR Sivan, Sci E, Research & Development Establishment Engineers (R&DE(Engrs)), Pune, received the prestigious Antarctica Award constituted by the Department of Ocean Development, Government of India, New Delhi, for his contribution in the Indian Antarctic Programme and Leadership Skill to rescue a team of Russian Expedition at Antarctica (1997-99). The award was presented by Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, Union Minister for Science & Technology, Human Resource Development, and Ocean Development at a function held on 3 July 2002 in New Delhi.
