Microwave Components Qualification and Testing Centre

Defence Electronics Research Laboratory (DLRL), Hyderabad, has established a Microwave Components Qualification and Testing Centre (MQTC). It is equipped with the state-of-the-art test and measurement equipment like scalar and vector network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, noise figure analyzer, modulation domain analyzer, synthesizer, and power meters. The measurement set-up is fully automated covering the frequency range of 10-40 GHz.

The centre is established to cater to the needs of public sector undertaking units, DRDO labs/estts, and other interested entrepreneurs who are required to evaluate and meet the mandatory requirements of characterisation of microwave components and sub-systems developed or manufactured by them.

The measurement set-up is networked through LAN to the server, which can be accessed for online viewing by the remote clients through dial-up connection.

Demonstration of Mobile Decontamination System
 

Vehicles Research & Development Estab-lishment (VRDE), Ahmednagar, organised a presentation-cum-demonstration of NBC Mobile Decontamination System based on High Mobility Vehicle (HMV). Shri RC Sethi, Director, VRDE; Maj Gen MP Singh, AVSM, Offg DGMF; Brig PK Chakraborty, DDG (Arty) (operations & training); Brig VK Verma, Cmdt. MIRC; and representatives from ACC & S and WE Directorate, Army HQrs witnessed the demonstration. The visitors recommended utilizing a scaled down version of the MDS for introduction into the Service for equipment intensive units.
