Lt Gen Tej Paul after his promotion to the current rank has taken over the charge of CC R&D (R), wef 1 April 200 1. He obtained his BSc Engineering (Hons) from Punjab Engineering College in 1963 and was Commissioned to the Indian Army in 1964. During his service with the Army, he was posted in the EME Centre, on staff in EME School Vadodara, field and base workshop in GREF and as Asst Prof in EME Apprentice School. He stood first in the Technical Staff College held at IAT, Pune, during 1972- 73.
Lt Gen Tej Paul obtained Masters in Military Vehicle Technology from Royal Military College of Science, UK, in 1978. He worked on various projects like medium recovery vehicle, development of new class of vehicles, ground system for IGMDP and Samyukta, repowering of tracked vehicles, and development of multi-axle vehicles, prior to taking over as Director, VRDE, in 1996.
Gen Tej Paul, during his service with DRDO, had varied field experience while organising
technical trials in the areas ranging from desert of Rajasthan to snow-bound areas and
