GTRE, Bangalore

Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) , Bangalore, organised a National Conference on Air Breathing Engines and Aerospace Propulsion during 10-11 January 2003. The Conference was attended by 200 participants and included three invited talks and 52 papers presented in 14 sessions. Shri Uma Maheswar, Executive Director, HAL (Engines), delivered the Keynote Address. The conference included special discussion session on emerging trends in Small Gas Turbines Technology. Shri SC Kaushal, Director, GTRE, was the chairman, of the organising committee.

GTRE also organised a Conference on Personnel Management on 23 January 2003. Thirty-nine participants from various DRDO labs/estts attended the Conference. The Conference addressed issues relating to personnel management and made suitable recommendations with a view to make the system more effective, responsive and dynamic for meeting the emerging needs of the organisation.

NPOL, Kochi

Naval Physical & Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Kochi organised an International conference on Sonar-Sensors and Systems during 11-13 December 2002.

RCI, Hyderabad

A course on Software Engineering and Software Quality was organised by the QAI (India), New Delhi, for the Scientists of Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad, during 26-28 December 2002. Shri SK Ray, Officiating Director, RCI inaugurated the Course. The Course covered the topics on: software life cycle, engineering phase, configuration management, testing, reviews and audits, quality assurance, models, planning, metrics, and quality tools.

VRDE, Ahmednagar

Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (VRDE) , Ahmednagar , organised a Workshop on Vehicle Modelling and Mobility Prediction on 27 December 2002. Lt Gen Tej Paul, CCR&D (R) delivered the Key note Address and chaired the panel discussion. Scientists from various DRDO labs/estts including Army reps attended the workshop and presented their work on the vehicle modelling and mobility prediction, and Terramechanics.

IRDE.Dehradun Shri Krishna Moorty at the valedictory function

Instruements Research & Development Establishmet (IRDE), Dehradun, organised a programme on Quality of Life under the auspices of Centre Board of Workers Education, Ministry of Labour, Government of India during 16-17 January 2003. Twenty C & D group employees participated in the Programme along with their spouses. The Programme included topics, like concept of life, art of living, role of parents in nurturing children, social evils, fundamental rights and duties, effective utilisation of spare time, gender bias,etc. Sri JAR Krishna Moorty., Director IRDE, presided over the valedictory session.
