Solidstate Physics Laboratory (sspl), Delhi, signed a contract with the Central
Electronics Limited ( CEL) , Sahibabad, for setting up a facility at CEL for production of
cadmium zinc telluride ( CZT) substrates, on 05 Apri1 2000. The contract was signed
between Dr Vikram Kumar, Director, sspl and Shri Ajai Kumar, Chairman and Managing
Director, CEL. Shri VP Sandlas, Distinguished Scientist and CC R&D, DRDO HQrs, New
Delhi, and senior officers from DRDO HQrs, CEL and sspl were present on the occasion.
Two technologies developed by the Defence Matallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL), Hyderabad, have been transferred to the trade. These include: A technology to produce anti-spark tools using Cu-Ti alloy. These tools have all advantages of the anti-spark tools made from Cu-Be alloy and in addition they are cheaper and non-toxic. The technology has now been transferred to the Hindustan Everest Tools, New Delhi, for production.
Boropack-A is a boronizing mixture technology developed by DMRL which has been transferred to Fluidtherm Technology, Chennai and Boron-Carbide (India) , Mumbai.
