DRDL INSTALLS HIGH SPEED MACHINING FACILITY (VCP - 710)

The Defence Research & Development Laboratory (DRDL), Hyderabad, has installed a high speed machining facility (VCP- 710) at its NC Centre. The machining is an innovative technology   in the field of machining aerospace components. It reduces the machining time more than 50 percent at improved accuracy and quality. Cutting forces and heating of the work piece are  lower in high speed machining. High speed machining  is very economical in machining difficult-to-cut materials,  such as high alloy and heat treated steels (hard machining), titanium and nickel-based alloys.
