DEBEL, Bangalore

Defence Bio-engineering and Electromedical Laboratory (DEBEL), Bangalore, organised a course on Basics of Human Physiology during 16-20 February 2004. Shri MB Verma, Director, ADA and Project Director (CA) inaugurated the course. Twenty-seven participants from various DRDO labs/ estts attended the course. Dr PK Banerjee, Director, DIPAS, delivered the valedictory address and also gave away the certificates.

CVRDE, Avadi

Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE), Avadi, organised a course on Engineering Trends in Manufacturing Technology during 23-27 February 2004. Twenty-five participants from various DRDO labs/estts attended the course. Shri PL Sathyanaranan, Addl Director inaugurated the course while Shri JL Mohindroo, Addl Director delivered the valedictory address.

DRL, Tezpur

Defence Research Laboratory (DRL), Tezpur, organised a course on Application of Remote Sensing and GIS in the Management of Malaria during 16-20 February 2004. Participants from various DRDO labs/ estts attended the course. Dr Trilochan Singh, Scientist, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Arunachal unit, Itanagar inaugurated the course and delivered the keynote address while Dr Munindra Borah, Head, Deptt of Mathematical Sciences, Tezpur University delivered the valedictory address. Shri I Baruah, Sci C, was the Course Director.

GTRE, Bangalore

Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), Bangalore, organised a course on Intranet Applications Development during 9-13 February 2004. Thirty participants from various DRDO labs/estts attended the course. Dr ML.Goyal, General Manager, CMC Ltd. Bangalore was the chief guest for the valedictory function.
NPOL, Kochi

Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Kochi, organised a course on Computational Ocean Acoustics during 9-13 February 2004. Shri V Chander, Director, NPOL inaugurated the course which was attended by twenty-five participants from NPOL. Shri M M Muni, Sci E, was the Course Coordinator.

NPOL, Kochi, organised a course on Sonar System Design during 23-27 February 2004. Shri V Chander, Director, NPOL inaugurated the course which was attended by thirty participants from NPOL and NSTL. Dr D D Ebenezer, Sci E, was the Course Director.

INMAS, Delhi

Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences (INMAS), Delhi, organised a two-day Seminar on 'Seabuckthorn–A Resource for Environment, Health and Economy during 12-13 March 2004. Dr W Selvamurthy, C C R&D (LS&HR) and Outstanding Scientist, DRDO presided over the function while Dr Tej Partap, Vice Chancellor, HP Agriculture University, Palampur, HP was the Chief Guest.

About 120 delegates from various DRDO labs and other institutions attended the seminar. Maj Gen T Ravindranath, AVSM, VSM, Director, INMAS welcomed the delegates and stressed upon the importance of Seabuckthorn and recalled the efforts being put in by various DRDO agencies in the research and development of this herbal product.
