DRDO Scientist of the Year award for the year 1986 was conferred to Mr. MN Saraf, Scientist, D for the development of Antiballistic FRP Materials for Composite Kanchan Armour

DRDO awarded prestigious Titanium Trophy to DMSRDE in 1987 for outstanding Scientific and Technical Achievements

Dr. P. Saravanan, Scientist B was honored with ISCA Young Scientist Award 2002 by the Indian National Science Congress Association, Kolkata during the 88th Meet of Indian National Science Congress at New Delhi in January, 2001

Dr. K. Mukhopadhyay, Scientist C was honored with DRDO Young Scientist Award in 2001

Mr. S.B. Pandey, TO C has been honored by the R&D HQrs, DRDO, New Delhi with Best Worker Award in DRTC Category for the year 2003.

Dr. P. Saravanan, Scientist C was honored with DRDO Young Scientist Award in 2003.

DRDO Scientist of the Year award for the year 2010 was conferred to Dr. Anurag Srivastava, Scientist, F for his valuable scientific contributions in the field of protective textiles leading to the development of NBC protective systems.

Best Performance Award 2010 was conferred to Shri OM Prakash Gautam, Technical Officer B for his significant contribution in development of lightweight NBC shielding pads for T-90 tanks.

Best Innovation/Futuristic Development Award 2011 was conferred to Dr A K Saxena, OS & Director and his team for his significant contribution in development of novel synthetic method to prepare multifunctional precursor material (polycarbosilane) in pilot scale.

DRDO Award 2014 in Category no.- 10; - Path Breaking Research/ Outstanding Technology Development was conferred to Dr. D.N. Tripathi, Sc. F & Team Mr. Shashank Mishra, TO C and Mr. Harjeet Singh, TO C.

DRDO Award 2015 in Category No.- IV; - Young Scientist Award was conferred to Mr. Babloo Mordina, Sc. C

Director’s (Dr.N.E.Prasad) Awards: National
1.  Selected for the prestigious Dr. VM Ghatge Award of the Aeronautical Society   of   India   (AeSI)   in   2014   for   the   Aluminium   Alloys Development,   Certification   and   Production  for  ASTRA   air-to-air Missile Programme of DRDO.

2.  Selected for Distinguished Alumnus Award of Department of Metallurgical   Engineering,   Indian   Institute   of   Technology (Banaras       Hindu University), Varanasi, India during its Double Sapphire Jubilee     Year Celebrations in 2013.

3.  Selected for the National Metallurgist Day (NMD) Award of the METALLURIGIST OF THE YEAR – 2010 of Indian Institute of  Metals  by the  Ministry  of  Steel,  Government  of  India,  in recognition of the outstanding contributions made in the field of Development of Aeronautical Materials for Indian Defence.
