Waste management :

At NSTL, lots of food waste and vegetable waste are being generated every day at residential area. At NSTL Residential campus, an initiative has been made to separate the wet and dry waste starting from each quarter by providing separate bins. In this consequence separate dustbins (for dry and wet waste) has been distributed to all residents.

Bio Gas Plant :

Degradable waste of about 50 kg (min) per day is generated at NSTL. Portable type Bio-gas plant, made up of FRP is very effective in converting these wastes into useful bio gas and also compost for garden and arboriculture requirements/use. Bio gas plant of 1500ltr capacity can use up to 15 kg waste. NSTL purchased 03 Nos of 1.5KL bio gas plant for effective management of waste at NSTL Technical Campus. And it is successfully installed at wet canteen.
