2. RD Parade 2018: DPI successfully organized DRDO’s participation in Republic Day Parade 2018.DRDO contingent included Nirbhay Missile and Ashwini Radar.
3. PRESS/PUBLICITY: During the year, more than 30 nos of Press Releases on DRDO events/launches published on Press Information Bureau (PIB). Media Interview of Secretary DDR&D & Chairman DRDO, Director Generals and lab directors were organized. Also, media visit to DRDO laboratories were organized to highlight the achievement of the labs. On select occasions, such as Defexpo 2018 etc., DRDO Press Conferences were also held.
4. Brand Building through Films & other means:
i. DRDO achieved a historical feat in 2018, when it completed 60 years of dedicated service to the nation. To mark the occasion, “DRDO@60” was launched, and many events planned throughout the year. DPI conceived, designed and coordinated the celebration of 60th anniversary of DRDO. Some major events organized are the following :-
a. DRDO Robotics and Unmanned Systems Exposition (DRUSE): The event was an open platform to popularize and synergize the national talent in the area of robotics amongst student community for development of Unmanned Systems for defence applications. DRUSE was launched on 14 Oct 2017.
b. DRDO Cyber Challenge: The cyber challenge was a single stage online event organized by DRDO. There were 25 challenges designed from various verticals of cyber domain namely, Cryptography, Reverse Engineering, Forensics, Networks and Cyber Puzzles etc.
c. DRDO National Level Essay Competition: The event was meant for students pursuing school, college, and graduate and post graduate degree. The topic of the essay was “DRDO: Achievements & Way Ahead”.
d. DRDO lecture Series by Young Scientists: A total of 29 colleges / universities / institutes across India were identified for the lecture series by young scientists of DRDO. The aim was to bring younger generation of the country more aware about the achievements and progress made by DRDO during the last 60 years.
e. A DRDO Product Portfolio Book was published by DPI to mark the occasion.
ii. Supported social media campaign on 20th anniversary of operation SHAKTI at Pokhran.
