vigilance directorAs a post graduate in Computer Science from Allahabad University, Sh Alok Mall joined DMSRDE, Kanpur as Sc 'B' in the year 1989. He obtained his M.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Madras in 1996. Contributing extensively in the fields of software development, automation and DRONA management, he shifted to HR management in the year 2007. In the year 2011, Sh Alok Mall was posted in CEPTAM where he spearheaded the Recruitment, Assessment and Training process of DRTC/Admin & Allied cadre. His persistent efforts helped to standardise and streamline the processes to the extent that CEPTAM was awarded ISO certification 9001:2008 in 2014. His HR managerial capabilities paved his way to the corporate headquarters and he was posted in Directorate of Personnel (DoP) in September 2014. In DoP, Sh Alok Mall keenly handled the service matters of all DRDO personnel and provided impetus to the functioning of DoP by standardising the processes. His immense knowledge in HR issues helped the directors in office to take various strategic, decisions with profound confidence.

During his tenure in DRDO various e-governance endeavours were implemented under his benevolent guidance in which Director DoP was the nodal officer. He has been instrumental in implementation of online APAR sparrow in DRDO. His expertise to handle HR matters helped to put in place the measures to ensure probity among the employees in DRDO and resolution of various other vital cases like consideration of special pay to be treated as part of pay, Centralised DPC for Admin cadre, revision of DRDS APAR cycle etc. Under his stewardship the department ranked first in MoD and second in Central Government Departments in grievance disposal rate in CPGRAMS. The department also showed an impeccable record in court case disposal among all government departments which was well appreciated by Ministry of Law and Justice. His concerted efforts for revision of pension of pre-2016 pensioners helped department to meet the set timelines.

On taking over as Director DHRD in June 2019, he channelized a new lease of life into the directorate and helped to expedite matters like Cadre Review for various cadres, implementation of MACP in DRTC, fixed RE for labs, augmentation of manpower, encadrement of Scientists etc. He has represented the department at various ministerial level endeavours. His zeal and efforts for betterment of HR Management in DRDO are fuelling a lot of endeavours of organisation.
