Bacteriophage Technology-based Applications for bacteria control
Technology Cluster
- DRL is exploring the lytic nature of naturally abundant bacteriophages against water-borne bacteria including multidrug resistant (MDR) bacteria.
- Various protocols and methodologies have been optimised to isolate, enrich and store bacteriophages from various source.
- Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and whole genome-based characterization protocols were optimised and carried out using a Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteriophage isolated from wastewater.
- The expertise developed is being used for bacterial decontamination in various fields.
