- Ten months course aimed at providing skilled manpower to various segments of Indian Food Industry

- Involves a full time attendance of 10 months. Academic days will be a minimum of 200 days and 7.5 hrs per day. In addition to holidays on Saturdays and Sundays, Government Holidays will be observed during the course. The Course normally commences in August-September every year
Admission Procedure for Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Food Analysis & Quality Assurance
A maximum of 20 students will be enrolled for the course. Normally the seats will be filled from candidates sponsored by The Directorate General of Health Services, State Public Health Departments or Food Processing industries and also from those application directly received by Director. The selection is strictly based on MERIT ONLY. On selection, candidates of Universities other than the State of Karnataka should obtain the Eligibility Certificate from University of Mysore for their admission.

FEE STRUCTURE
The course fee is Rs. 20,000 which is payable in one lumpsum toward tutorials, lecture materials, laboratory facilities and visits to industries as envisaged during the entire course.
A sum of Rs. 3000/- would be deducted from the course fee from student who desire to leave the course after admission irrespective of the number of days he/she attended the classes subject to a maximum period of three months. Thereafter the entire course would be forfeited. The students are also required to make a refundable caution money deposit of Rs. 1000/- for laboratory and library facilities. All the payments have to be made through demand draft in favour of 'Director, DFRL, Mysore'.
ELIGIBILITY
The candidates should have at least a Degree in Science with Chemistry / Biochemistry as one of the subjects or B.Sc. Degree in agriculture or Veterinary Science or B.Sc in Home Science/Nutrition and Dietetics/Food and Nutrition/Food Science and Nutrition from a recognised University securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
Note:-Students who have obtained B.Sc degree through correspondence are not eligible to apply.
RESERVATIONS
15% of the seats are reserved for SC candidates and 7.5% for ST candidates. However the SC/ST candidates should also have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate at degree level for applying and appearing for the written test. One seat is reserved for a candidate obtaining B.Sc. degree in Food Science and Nutrition of the University of Mysore, Mysore.
SYLLABUS FOR ENTRANCE
The syllabus for the written test will be based on the Chemistry, Biochemistry, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Home Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, Food Science and Nutrition subjects studied at the degree level.
ACCOMMODATION
Separate hostel facilities are available for boys and girls in DFRL colony, adjacent to DFRL office.
